Owning & Enjoying
- Tasting notes
-
Enticing notes of ripe citrus, honeysuckle, and soft melon rise from the glass, layered with hints of yellow apples. The palate unfolds with flavors of Asian pear, juicy Casaba melon, bright quince carried by a vibrant core of mouthwatering acidity. A graceful mid-palate weight provides balance and texture, leading to a long refreshing finish that invites another sip.
- Pairing
-
This classic Clarksburg Chenin Blanc shows a food friendly vibrancy while finishing with the slightest hint of sweetness. Some favorites to pair with are creamy sweet potato soup and honey glazed salmon.
Production
- Terroir
-
Sourced from mature vines at our Sutter Ranch vineyard, this heritage varietal captures Chenin Blanc's signature vitality and expressive aromatics. Dense clay soils and cooling breezes from the Sacramento River combine to make the Delta a remarkable growing region for Chenin Blanc, resulting in complexity and refreshing minerality.
Winery
- Winery Description
The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
