Tasting notes

Aromas of black cherry, blackberry, cassis and violet, with hints of cedar and graphite. The palate is layered with dark cacao and blue fruits, accented by subtle mocha and baking spice. Fine grained and silky tannins provide elegant structure, leading to a long, muscular and polished finish marked by lingering dried herbs and mineral notes.

Production
Terroir

The growing season started off with very little rain after two consecutive years of historic drought. Frost during flowering season resulted of record low yields. Warm summer led to intensely- flavored, small sized berries. A freak two-week heatwave in September rushed us to pick our perfectly ripened grapes early.

Vintage Notes

The 2019 growing season will be remembered for its abundant rain (the last one we’ve seen since). Summer was long and warm, with a mild season finish and no extreme heat events. The fruit preserved in freshness and finesse as it hung on the vine until mid-October. Harvest was smooth and promising for another exceptional vintage.

The Vice Wine is about as personal of a brand as it gets. Everything is done by the founders. We drive the truck to get our fruit, we crush, bottle, label; we do everything by hand when possible. We design the labels, work the market, and sell the wine.
