Tasting notes

On the nose, expressive aromas of forest berries, ripe currants, and raspberries unfold alongside notes of cracked black pepper, wild juniper, and earthy undertones evoking sun-warmed vineyard soils and woodland spices. These savory nuances are complemented by hints of dried sage and thyme. The palate is rich, offering flavors of sour cherry, red and black berries, and gentle baking spice, interwoven with toasted coconut from extended oak aging in American oak. Bright and well-integrated acidity provides lift and freshness, while subtle residual berry-sweetness adds roundness and enhances the wine's plush texture.

Pairing

Perfectly paired with a wide range of dishes, from wood-fired pizza and pasta with red sauce to grilled meats and vegetables.

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
