Tasting notes

This wine opens with lifted aromatics of black cherry, mint bush, juniper berry, and subtle accents of baking spices. On the palate, vibrant red fruits lead way, carrying into a fleshy mid-palate weight that feel both generous and balanced. Textured, yet refined tannins provide gentle grip, while notes of red cassis and hints of red licorice add depth and intrigue.

Pairing

This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of foods like rib-eye steak with blue cheese butter, roasted eggplant with provolone cheese and dark chocolate mousse with fresh berries.

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
