Tasting notes

Our Reserve Clarksburg Chardonnay showcases the elegance and depth that a cooler vintage can deliver. The extended growing season of 2023 allowed for a slow, even ripening, enhancing the varietal’s natural acidity while building layers of complexity. Rich aromas of ripe pear, grilled pineapple and toasted coconut rise from the glass with subtle notes of warm brioche and a delicate thread of lemon curd, adding lift. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and silky, with a creamy mouthfeel from the sur lie aging, balanced by a bright backbone of acidity. Notes of butterscotch and spice carry through to a long, satisfying finish that lingers with warmth and structure.

Pairing

Versatile and balanced, this Chardonnay pairs with everything from a saffron risotto to roast chicken and vegetables.

Production
Vinification

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
