Tasting notes

This Merlot delivers an approachable yet refined drinking experience. Aromas of black cherry and subtle anise rise from the glass, complemented by intriguing notes of pine and earth. A touch of toasted brown sugar and caramel lend an inviting richness to the bouquet. On the palate, the entry is plush and round, showcasing vibrant flavors of cherry cola, black currant, and mocha, with hints of tobacco adding depth. These flavors are beautifully balanced, lingering gracefully with a soft yet pleasantly chalky tannins that enhances the wine’s texture and complexity.

Pairing

This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of foods like Margherita pizza, aged white cheddar and duck breast with a raspberry sauce.

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
