EOS Chardonnay 2023

America, California

Eos, the Greek goddess of dawn, opened the gates of heaven each morning allowing the sun to rise. Fiercely passionate, she was cursed by Aphrodite for having an affair with Ares. Her punishment was an insatiable appetite for young men. At Eos – the winery – we’re just as passionate as our namesake, but our insatiable appetite is focused toward the production of great wines. Since the mid-1980s, we have built our reputation on dense reds, complex whites and luscious dessert wines from great AVAs throughout the state.

Tasting notes

Our 2023 California Chardonnay leads with striking aromas of bright citrus and baked apple. Rich and lush, this chardonnay has notes of vanilla, toasted oak, and hints of baking spices on the finish. Enjoy with an arugula salad with shaved fennel, macrona almonds, and lemon vinaigrette, or linguine with white clam sauce.

V I N E Y A R D S
At Eos, we believe great wines cannot be made without great fruit. We source our grapes from quality vineyards in the premiere growing regions of California, including Lake County, Sonoma County and all along the Central Coast. The geographical diversity of these regions yield a plethora of distinct microclimates and results in wines with unique aromas, flavors and texture.

Vintage Notes

The 2023 California growing season began with another very wet winter. Ample rain and lack of late frosts helped get this excellent vintage off to a good start. Late spring rain, followed by a rather cool summer meant a delayed ripening phase for the grapes. With no major heat spikes or frosts, the vintage ended up being one of the best in the last decade. The wines from this year offer vast depth, structure, finesse, and flavor.
