Tasting notes

The nose opens with a mix of ripe blackberries, blueberries and dark cherries, intertwined with notes of mocha, vanilla and cracked peppercorn. The palate bursts with juicy concentrated fruit flavors, lush dark plum and a hint of boysenberry leading the way. This wine features a plush, velvety entry, followed by a full-bodied mouthfeel that reveals fine tannins and balanced acidity.

Pairing

Both essential and versatile, this wine pairs equally well with barbeque ribs as it does with seared duck breast. We also suggest a rich pasta with truffle oil and parmesan cheese.

Winery Description

The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
