Owning & Enjoying
- Tasting notes
-
The Specialyst Zinfandel has rich aromas and flavors of blackberry, plum, and allspice, with a smooth jammy fruit and sweet tobacco finish. Our wine is delicious on its own and will also pair perfectly with grilled vegetables and meats, hearty pastas, and aged cheeses.
Production
- Terroir
-
Beautifully ripe fruit was selected from our top Zinfandel vineyard partners throughout Lodi – world renowned for Zinfandel.
- Vintage Notes
-
The 2021 growing season allowed for a bountiful harvest of vibrant Zinfandel fruit. Sourced from Certified Sustainable vineyards throughout the Lodi growing region, each ton harvested was bearing beautifully concentrated berries, ready for fermentation.
- Vinification
-
Our 2021 Zinfandel was fermented to dry in stainless steel tanks. After undergoing a maceration period to extract the classic varietal characteristics, the wine was pressed off skins, followed by a full malolactic fermentation. The Specialyst Zinfandel is aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels, 40% of which are new oak.
