Tasting notes
This California Pinot Noir presents an inviting aroma of ripe red cherries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle hints of baking spices and the earthy essence of the forest oor. Vineyards in cooler climates contribute lively acidity and delicate red fruit notes of cherry and cranberry, while those in warmer, sun-kissed regions impart richness and depth, showcasing notes of ripe raspberry. Subtle nuances of vanilla and clove, a result of gentle oak aging, complement the ensemble. The outcome is an elegant, medium-bodied wine with silky tannins, offering refreshing complexity and nesse.
Pairing
This versatile wine pairs well with a variety of foods like swiss chard ravioli with sage butter sauce, Teleme cheese with cherry preserves and mushrooms sautéed with garlic and wine.
Vinification
Select lots aged in a combination of new French oak and neutral American oak barrels for 12 months.
Winery Description
The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in every bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!
