Our plush yet structured Cabernet Sauvignon draws on fruit sources from the best regions of coastal California. The foundation of the blend hails from Mendocino County where rich red volcanic soils and temperature fluctuations produce fruit with great depth of color, elegant structural tannin, and luscious red berry flavors. Rounding out the style are components from our grower partners further afield: Monterey where ancient seabed soils, maritime fog, and steady wind create a longer, growing season and contribute distinctive plum flavor and fine tannins, Paso Robles with its rolling hills and both bedrock and calcareous shale soils, warm temperatures and long growing season provides intense color, soft juicy fruit and cracked pepper spice, and the Santa Clara Valley with rocky alluvial and sandstone soils and a classic Mediterranean climate that brings softer tannins and black cherry fruit to the blend.

Winery Description
Cannonball Wine Company was founded in 2006 by longtime winemaker Dennis Hill and former attorney turned wine entrepreneur Yoav Gilat. Dennis is a Sonoma County native from a family with a long viticultural tradition in the region. The iconic label image of a child doing a ‘Cannonball’ refers to jumping into the water with your knees tucked into your chest in order to make a big splash and get your nearby friends as wet as possible.
The Cannonball name and label symbolize the uninhibited and pure spirit of a child having fun. This is the soul of Cannonball Wine Company: life - and wine - should befun!
