Wines of Substance Sauvignon Blanc 2019

America, Washington

Another classic to behold! Broken limestone and honeycomb enrich the senses, followed more subtly with verbena, grapefruit rind, white peach and green apple. Zippy, long, and rich, finishing with sea spray, lemon zest and a lovely perfume.

92 Points, James Suckling (v2019)

“A pretty white with sliced white peach, apple, lemon and a hint of lychee. It’s medium-to full-bodied with a compact palate and a lightly chewy finish. But always tight and focused. Drink now.”

91 Points, Jeb Dunnuck (v2019)

“Coming from the Sunset Vineyard in the Ancient Lakes region of Washington State, the 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Vineyard Collection reveals a light gold hue as well as classic, ripe Sauvignon notes of chalky minerality, honeyed citrus, green herbs, and exotic flowers. Nicely textured on the palate, with medium-bodied richness and bright, almost racy acidity, it stays balanced and enjoyable, with lots of character. Give bottles another year or so and it will have 7-8 years of longevity. It’s a heck of a wine for the price!”

Winery Description

The original thought was to be a one wine brand, with a single minded vision to produce the best value-priced Cabernet Sauvignon in America. How do you go about this? Traditional winemaking. Natural fermentations. Barrel-aging. Plus, bottling unfiltered and unfined. In essence, making the wines in small batch winemaking integrity, but doing so on a larger scale. The wine is black. The label definitively says, "This is Cabernet Sauvignon." And also, with the CS, you know who made this wine: Charles Smith.
