From this Winery
Each year, Dunham Cellars blends a portion of its wines into this red table wine. Using fruit from all of our estate vineyards and using the same barrels in which our finest Cabernet, Merlots and Syrahs are aged, we are able to maintain the consistent high quality of our top wine, as well as create a great everyday wine that is price-friendly.
It was a sunny day in the summer of 1994 when I met Port. Outside I heard the distinct sound of an animal in distress. It took only moments to realize what was happening
across the field from my house – a young puppy had fallen into harm’s way and was being attacked by another dog. I ran to the scene, broke up the fight and found that the puppy was very badly injured. Instinctively, I wrapped him up and took him to the veterinarian, and although the puppy had lost a leg, he had found a home. With only three legs, and two on the port side, I named him Port, and he was my best friend.
Our 2021 Riesling opens with beautiful aromas of jasmine, plumeria and peach blossom. Additional time in the glass reveals enticing layers of guava and grapefruit zest. Juicy flavors of white peach and nectarine offer a touch of sweetness, while a light minerality and balanced acidity carry the flavors through a bright, clean finish.
All estate grown, this 100% Chardonnay opens with aromas of Meyer lemon, citrus blossom, peach and apricot. Tropical flavors of pineapple and mango mingle with a touch of buttery richness while its bright acidity provides energy and freshness throughout the finish.
Our 2019 Trutina opens with gorgeous aromas of dark cherry, plum, star anise and tobacco leaf. On the palate, dark fruit flavors mingle effortlessly with notes of dried apricot and espresso. Elegant, polished tannins carry the wine through a velvety and delicious finish. Another classic vintage of our flagship homage to the Bordeaux varieties!
This beautifully aromatic vintage opens with enticing hints of dark fruit, sweet tobacco, seared meat and baking spices. A velvety entry on the palate yields notable flavors of blackberry jam and star anise. Full-bodied with a deliciously lengthy and savory mouth-coating finish, this one has a high YUM factor!
Another outstanding rendition of our flagship wine, the 2017 Dunham Cabernet leads with aromas of cocoa, aged cedar and spice before revealing notes of blackcurrant, dried cranberry and plum. On the palate, robust red fruit shines through as freshly baked strawberries and raspberries are complemented by savory dried herbs. Showcasing serious depth and finesse, the supple tannins and fresh acidity extend the complex flavors along a wonderfully long finish.
