The Bogle family has been farming in the Sacramento River Delta for six generations. The first 20 acres of vines were planted in 1968 near the small farming community of Clarksburg. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,500 acres of wine grapes in the Clarksburg AVA and other select California winegrowing regions including Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi and Amador and Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from the cool Monterey and Russian River Valley AVA’s. The Bogle family’s deep respect for the land and generational commitment to putting consistent, honest value in the bottle is rooted in one over-arching philosophy: the family is involved in every detail of the business. And they are some of the nicest folks you’ll ever meet!

From this Winery

Our California Chardonnay, the most popular wine we produce, is a crowd pleaser with wide appeal. With welcoming aromatics, bright and juicy apple and pear flavors, a soft and creamy texture and toasty, spicy tones of American oak, a glass of this has a little something for everyone. Handcrafted and award-winning, this bottle will delight wine drinkers with its lovely, approachable style.
Green apple and pear aromas classically characterize this wine as Clarksburg, while honeycomb and vanilla heighten the first impression. The rich, round entry rolls into a viscous and silky mouthfeel, surrounded by Asian pears and Honeycrisp apples. The finish lingers long and soft, like the wafting aromas of grandma’s warm apple pie.
This wine is certified sustainable by the California Rules for Sustainable Winegrowing and proudly bears the symbol on the label.

As the first white winegrape our grandfather planted back in 1968, we are proud to continue to grow, handcraft and share our “heritage” Chenin Blanc. Perfectly suited to Clarksburg’s soils, growing season and climate, this wine is a wonderful example of the place we have called home for six generations.

This richly-hued garnet beauty opens with aromatics of Bing cherries, sassafras, and hints of pipe tobacco. The smooth and supple red fruits on the entry give way to a plush velvety middle, while this approachable and appetizing wine finishes with touches of cedar box and sweet herbs.

A lively entry of boxwood and freshly cut grass greets the senses, while ripe, tropical passion fruit softens the mouthfeel. Just a touch of Pinot Grigio combines to create a playful mid palate, while flavors of quince and lime are mouthwatering, from first sip to refreshing finish.

Opening with dense fruit notes of dried cherry and plum compote, our Cabernet Sauvignon captivates the nose and palate. Hints of clove, nutmeg and burnt caramel are imparted through 12 months of aging in American oak barrels. Dusty tannins give way to a concentrated mouthfeel, with ample structure and balance to ensure this wine will age well for years to come.

Upon the first sip, the rich, juicy mouthfeel takes over, expressive with flavors of blueberry and blackberry. After aging in American oak for 12 months, the wine finishes with round, plush and succulent flavors of baked cobbler.

Classic Zinfandel is typically characterized by spice, and this wine is no exception. On the nose juniper, black pepper and spicy nutmeg awaken the senses. Flavors of cranberries and raspberries tantalize the palate, leading to notes of red fruits, marionberry pie and baking spices. This Old Vine Zinfandel has a bold, yet elegant mouthfeel and a long, refined finish.

Purple. Inky. Rich. Jammy. Our Petite Sirah embodies all of these and more. From the touches of mocha and cocoa on the nose, to the juicy boysenberry and blueberry fruit on the palate, this wine overdelivers. The silky mouthfeel leads to even softer tannins, wrapping around the wine like your favorite blanket on a rainy day. Luscious and decadent, this wine finishes with vanilla and sweet clove, lingering after its aging in American oak for 12 months.

Heady scents of ripe summer strawberries make a lovely first impression, while hints of crushed violets and sweet dried herbs resonate on the nose. Refined and nuanced, the mouthfeel softens as layers of cherry fruit are wrapped in a comforting blanket of pipe tobacco and worn leather. The firm, yet lingering finish is perfectly balanced with touches of baking spices, fragrant fruit and earth tones.

In French, saignee literally means "to bleed" and has been used as a traditional method of Rose winemaking for centuries. Red grapes are crushed, then the lightly colored juice is "bled" off after just a moment of skin contact This classic winemaking process has yielded Bogie's crisp and refreshing Rose.

This classic French varietal is often used for blending due to its intense aromatics and complex flavor profile. We love making this wine for our Home Ranch Wine Shop in Clarksburg and select international markets.

This haunting apparition perfectly combines the fierce spice of Zinfandel with the ripe berries of Petite Sirah to create a wine of intensity and concentration. Aromas of baked fruit cobbler and juniper tease while flavors of blackberries and peppercorns seduce the senses. Mysterious and mouthfilling, this deeply colored wine is filled with dense fruit and ample tannins, all framed with whispers of nutmeg and allspice after aging for 19 months in American oak.
While Phantom can be enjoyed easily today, hide a bottle in your cellar to allow it to age and develop...and haunt another day.

Grapes hand-selected from our finest Clarksburg vineyards create Phantom Chardonnay.
Aromas of honey and spiced vanilla arise from the glass, while juicy golden apples and ripe pears share the palate with tropical mango and guava. Barrel aging in new French oak, with twice monthly batonnage, creates delicate whispers of cremé brûlée and caramel, the lingering legacy of the Phantom.

From our Puente Ranch right here in Clarksburg, this Reserve Chardonnay
showcases the sultry nature of Clarksburg Chardonnay. From the decadent aromatics,
to the velvety texture, to the complex finish, this is hand-crafted wine at its very best.
Harvested at night, whole Chardonnay clusters were lightly pressed to extract their
succulent juice, while avoiding skin and seed contact as much as possible. This
retained the ripe apple and sweet pear fruits and allowed them to come alive. Barrel
fermented and aged in 100% new American oak for fifteen months, the wine was
then stirred by hand twice a month, to create a silky mouthfeel.
Spicy persimmon flirts on the palate, while the seductive finish hints of toasted
marshmallows and a caramelized sugar meringue.

This Bordeaux-style blend comes from the unique, hillside vineyards of California. Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot combine to create a handcrafted blend that shows off the best of these classic varieties.
The high fruit tones are framed by the decadent French oak flavors of vanilla, creme brulee and hints of anise. This handcrafted reserve blend is delicious now but will develop in your cellar well into the next decade.

WHY HILLSIDE VINEYARDS ARE SPECIAL FOR CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Steep hillside vineyards present the ultimate challenge. Mountainous terrain tests both the grower and the vine.
But the results can be extraordinary.
These hillside vineyards have less access to water, with the rockier soil also holding fewer nutrients. These conditions stress the vines, resulting in the production of a fraction of the fruit of most vineyards. The harsh environment causes the vines to struggle, yielding fewer clusters and smaller berry size. The result is berries that are loaded with rich, ripe, intensely concentrated flavors and complexity.
Our hillside vineyards are special. So is the wine that is crafted from them.

WHY THE RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY IS IDEAL FOR PINOT NOIR
Its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the balancing influences of sun and fog and soil composition ideally matched to cool climate grapes make the Russian River Valley an ideal sanctuary for Pinot Noir.

**Limited Product
As the first red wine bottled by our family in 1978, Petite Sirah has come to be synonymous with the winery. For many customers, Petite Sirah was the first Bogle wine they tried. Today, so many years later, Bogle is the largest producer of Petite Sirah in the world.
Handpicked from our estate Quick Ranch on Merritt Island, just a few miles down Elk Slough from our homestead, the grapes for this wine were selected for their quality and concentration. Dark, tightly formed clusters created intense flavors and set themselves apart for this special commemorative wine.
After primary and secondary fermentations, the wine was placed in French and American oak barrels where it aged for over 24 months. Additional time aging in the bottle allowed the components of the wine to come together seamlessly.
A nose of lavender and violets leads to huge blackberry and marionberry flavors on the palate. Silky, rich, luscious, and luxurious, this wine finishes with touches of toasty spice and voluptuous caramel, essences of both barrel types left behind. A perfect food wine, pairings are pretty limitless, and the wine could cellar for 20 years.
Bottled in a limited-edition silk screened bottle and finished with gold wax, this wine can currently only be found at our tasting room in Clarksburg.
