When Sokol Blosser planted their first vines in 1971, there was no wine industry in Oregon. Today, with 450 wineries and 19,300 acres of vineyards, Oregon wines are available throughout the world.  Sokol Blosser is a family-owned and run operation that has been a leader in environmentally friendly viticulture and business practices since the birth of the modern Oregon wine industry.  Sokol Blosser strives to craft wines of world class quality that are produced sustainably, mindful of the environment and your health, and that express the distinctive flavors of their hillside vineyards.  This dedication to world class quality and commitment to the environment constitute Sokol Blossers core values, and are reflected in everything they do from green viticultural practices to recycling all office waste to using unbleached paper for their labels.  Sokol Blosser received the prestigious full USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) organic certification in 2005.

Sokol Blosser Evolution Big Time Red

Evolution Big Time Red has a new step with the release of the 7th edition. In addition to the components that you’ve come to love in this blend – Sangiovese, Syrah and just a touch of Evolution Lucky No. 9 White, we’ve added the red grape of Sicily: Nero d’Avola. This addition adds more fruit to the blend to create a softer, rounder, fruitier flavor profile. This wine is tructured and rich with flavors of cherry and plum pie filling, black cherry and red currants and hints of savory notes throughout the palate.

Sokol Blosser Evolution White Lucky Number 9

Evolution Lucky No. 9 is both complex and approachable, with an intensely aromatic and flavorful blend of white varietals that create a wine with depth of interest and versatility in pairing. Spicy and floral on the nose, this wine is lush and tropical on the palate, with a soft and round sweetness that is tempered by a burst of citrus, leaving the finish clean and crisp. We may dare to say that Evolution goes with just about anything, but especially shines when sipped alongside Thai curry, Tandoori chicken, spicy tuna rolls, or a poolside on a hot summer day.

Sokol Blosser Evolution Pinot Noir

Ripe fruit, acid, approachability, and satisfaction all come together in the 2017 Evolution Pinot Noir. This wine exhibits aromas and flavors of bright red and jammy fruit characteristics, pie cherry and a hint of toasty oak. In the nose, this food friendly pinot noir expresses notes of chocolate covered cherries, rose petal, and a hint of baking spice. The mouthfeel is round and rich at first sip with some good tannins which soften with acidity in its long finish. Pairs wonderfully with wood-fire pizza or Thanksgiving roasted turkey.

Sokol Blosser Pinot Gris

Our 2017 Dundee Hills Estate Pinot Gris is our signature white wine of Oregon. The 2017 vintage is made entirely from Sokol Blosser estate grown fruit. Our pinot gris is gently whole cluster pressed to minimize the extraction of bitterness from the skins. This wine exhibits aromas of green apple and white flowers. There’s a bright acidity on the palate with strong citrus flavors, a hint of honeydew melon and a notable mineral finish.

Sokol Blosser Evolution Sparkling

The great sparkling wines of the world are blends or as the French would say, “Assemblage,” of multiple grape varietals, from multiple vintages, with different oak treatments, and differing levels of malolactic fermentation. These wines are blended to make a complex sparkling wine that matches the taste profile desired by the winemaking team. With this in mind, we have thought for many years that Evolution would make an amazing base wine for the production of a true, méthode traditionelle, sparkling wine. So, here it is.

Sokol Blosser Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir

Aroma is a radiant bouquet of white peach, jasmine and spring rain. Nectarines, fresh melon and bright acidity are prominent on the palate. You will be left with a lingering rhubarb flavor on the finish. The juice was divided into multiple stainless steel tanks, one portion was inoculated with a neutral yeast, and the other with a yeast focused on lifting the fruit aromatics within the pinot noir grape. An extended, slow, cool fermentation was maintained to preserve the lively fruitiness and delicate floral aromas. This wine has just a hint of residual sugar to balance the firm acidity, resulting in a wine that is crisp, vibrant and refreshing.

Sokol Blosser Chardonnay Dundee Hills

It expresses luscious, with notes of stony minerality and a smooth finish. In 2016, our winemaking team aged our Chardonnay in 100% French oak (13% new oak) using a variety of fermentation vessel sizes, oak, yeast and stirring regimes. These methods came together to form a complex multilayered blend. This wine expresses notes of cedar, apricot, nutmeg, and wild plum.
