Freemark Abbey

Winemaker Ted Edwards

Freemark Abbey was one of the very first wineries in Napa Valley, with a continuous history dating back to 1886. The stone winery which is still in use at the winery today was built at the turn of the century.
The winery’s tradition of winemaking excellence continues to this day with wines that over-deliver on quality and pedigree. The grapes for the red wines are sourced primarily from the Rutherford AVA and complemented with top-quality fruit from Howell Mountain and Mount Veeder; while the Chardonnay is from the much cooler Los Carneros area. Winemaker Ted Edwards has been at the winemaking helm of Freemark Abbey and working with many of the same growers for almost 30 years, bringing a master’s touch and consistency to this Napa Legend.
