Leonetti Cellar was founded by Gary and Nancy Figgins more than 35 years ago. Today, second generation winemaker Chris Figgins continues to produce wines of uncompromising quality that have gained a cult-like following among wine lovers. While continuing to raise the bar for Leonetti Cellar - which has endured for decades as one of the most sought after American wines in the world - Chris is now also bottling small, select lots under his Figgins label. The Figgins family maintains total control over quality and the cultivation process from start to finish - allowing each sip to reflect the deep sense of place and connection to the land that provides their inspiration.

Figgins Estate Red Wine

Figgins Estate Vineyard is the highest elevation Bordeaux variety vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley. Our position up Mill Creek lends itself to ideal autumn ripening, even in especially warm years like 2015. This vintage was the earliest harvest in our history, but retained a delicious balance between acidity and tannin due in part to the high elevation. The 2015 Estate Red is among the most compelling I have had a hand in making in my 21 professional vintages at Leonetti and FIGGINS. This wine is what I imagined our exceptional site to be capable of producing when I bought the land and designed the vineyard over 15 years ago. Rich in color, the wine entices you with an intoxicating nose of baking spices, cherry compote, wild roses, cassis and caramel apple. Layer upon layer of perfectly ripe red and black fruits and silky tannin engage the palate. I have not been this excited about a FIGGINS release since my inaugural vintage in 2008!

Leonetti Sangiovese

Dazzling deep ruby in color. The nose is loaded with bright red fruits and a kiss of vanilla bean. The palate is creamy and acidic like a splendidly satisfying sorbet. Refreshing and impeccably balanced, this is a stellar example of one of our favorite varieties. The 2016 Sangiovese was such a shining star that it stands alone in the blend for this vintage.

Leonetti Merlot

This Merlot beautifully illustrates why 2017 is quickly becoming one of my favorite vintages. A dominant note of ripe bramble fruit and cream explodes from the glass, as if raspberries and blackberries were reduced on the stove and then poured hot over homemade vanilla ice cream. Secondary notes add just a touch of cocoa powder. In my opinion, Walla Walla Valley Merlot is about purity and precision of fruit, and this wine delivers that in spades. The subtle and seamless tannins are not heavy on the palate, but clean and pure. The finish is both rich and acid-laced, making it truly satisfying and refreshing.

Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon

Penetratingly dark. Exhibiting a wonderfully complex nose of dried rosemary, sage, and lavender with subtle aromas of coffee and toffee. Remarkably refined with fantastic secondary notes – unusual in a wine this young. Delicious plum and blackberry saturate the palate and lead to a long and lush finish with soft tannins – truly emblematic of the delightful 2016 vintage.

Leonetti Reserve

This inky Cabernet-dominated wine explodes from the glass with a flamboyant and enchanting bouquet of freshly picked flowers. Malbec contributes precision and levity on the palate. These two features are defining characteristics of the truly great wines of the world. It is a sensation of density of fruit on the palate without being cloying. The wine is brimming with black and red fruits and just a whisper of oak. The tannins are luscious but structured to age magnificently. The balance is perfect. This wine is our flagship effort and I believe you’ll find it represents that exceptionally!
