The Redhook Ale Brewery was established in Seattle, Washington in 1981. Redhook produces high quality top-fermented traditional ales. All Redhook products are brewed in accordance with the 1516 German Purity Law which requires beer to be made from just four ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast and water. Because all Redhook ales are sold fresh and unpasteurized, refrigeration is recommended to ensure freshness. Redhook ESB, the company's flagship ale, is a full-bodied amber ale with a toasted malt flavor and pleasant finishing sweetness modeled after the premium Extra Special Bitters found in English pubs. Redhook India Pale Ale (Ballard Bitter) is an aggressively hopped ale with a dry, crisp finish and a delicious thirst-quencher.
