Walla Walla's Perennial 'Best Buy'

Waterbrook consistently represents some of the best values in American wine. The wine's outstanding price-value ratio has earned Waterbrook "Best Buy" designations from Wine Spectator magazine nearly every year for over two decades. A pioneer in Washington winemaking, Waterbrook was the fourth winery founded in the Walla Walla appellation following Leonetti Cellar, Woodward Canyon, and L'Ecole No. 41. The Cabernet Sauvignon and the Merlot are soft and approachable for immediate enjoyment but have good depth and structure, and often compare favorably with reds that sell for twice the price. The Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc have enjoyed a particularly favorable reception in Japan. We think that this is due to the pure varietal expression of fruit that these whites offer with little intrusion of heavy oak or butter flavors that can be typical of some New World white wines. The result is crisp, clean finishing wines that can match well with many of the more lightly flavored dishes common in Japan. The Melange is a unique and surprising blend of Sangiovese, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
